Has your hard drive started clicking? Try listening for a very high pitched squealing coming out of your computer.
A failing hard drive may trigger a disk check too. These are all early warning signs that you should BACK UP YOUR FILES IMMEDIATELY. Hard drives don’t always give you a warning and may just die on the spot, so even if you don’t have problems, it’s still good practice to make sure you have a back up periodically. Read More »
Many programs are using “tabs” now. Programmers are referencing the small part of a manila folder that sticks up out of a file drawer and many programs now incorporate “tabs” that stick out the top of the viewing area. When you’re using a mouse with a scroll wheel, you can click down on the scroll wheel rather than using it to scroll. The click will trigger a middle click which will open multiple web links as tabs at the top making it super easy to switch between them. Our customers have been reporting that an unknown company is randomly calling people, pretending to be Microsoft, and claiming they have detected a virus infection on the customer’s computer. Be aware, Microsoft doesn’t actually call individual customers regarding these sorts of problems with your computer. Undo is one of the most important shortcuts. It reverses your very last action. If you click again, you’re too late, the last action has been replaced and is something else now. This is especially helpful if you inadvertently move a folder inside another one and can’t find it. If that seems like it happened, STOP!!!! Don’t press anything or click anything and immediately press CTRL Z to reverse the “move folder” command that just happened by mistake. Read More »
