On a regular computer, with a little practice the keyboard is blazing fast over using a mouse. The key to speed is knowing all the ways to navigate and save time. When you’re working with form fields in just about every software program and website ever created, the TAB key might be your best friend. This is especially true if you have to do a lot of repetitive data entry.

Press the TAB key and the cursor advances to the next field where you can type, such as moving from the “First Name” box to the “Last Name” box in a form.

Hold SHIFT while pressing the TAB key and the cursor backs up to the previous text field. Try it! It’s quite handy!
